Mandala's and more sketchbook drawings

So I saw the video going around about doing mandalas and it looked fun and pretty doable..

How do the lines get away?lol! This one is pretty wonky. Reminds me of a kaleidoscope.

This one is better - I would like to try more and I like the idea of coloring them in too. Or using different colors each time you add something. Fun!

Continuing on the sketchbook pages...

I found out a little secret too that is working for me.

After I finish the sketch for the day, I find what I want to draw for the next day so I am ready to go and not searching and getting frustrated and give up. Works for me!

These are great! I love the tower... nice perspective on that one! The bird is cute too!

The tower is amazing and love the one just before that! For the mandalas, are you turning the paper so that each line you make is going in the same direction, such as up/north.

Where do you get your ideas? Are you using photos off the web? I haven't tried that.

Your pictures are great. Lots of variety. That bird is super.

Hi Cheryl
Is it the Eiffel Tower? It looks great. And I really like the mandala above it.

Yup, it's the Eiffel tower... ran out of room to do the top!
freebird - I get my ideas from everywhere. Some things I own to draw from real life, some photos in books, other illustrations to practice technique. Once you start, it seems there is TONS to draw. We just have to SEE.
