WAy to go Sarah!

Sarah entered a photography contest at school this month - I guess now it will be every month.

The topic was "shapes". She entered this photo....

And she won! She gets it shown at the school and a large glossy print to keep.

The teacher was amazed and asked why she wasn't taking photography class????  She can't because it conflicts with Chemistry which she needs. The teacher asked her to take photos for the yearbook too.

This is of the central park bridge in NYC  last summer.

She also been asked to go to a skills competition for photography - only 2 people went last year! It's regionals and from there she could go to provincials and nationals.

She's pretty excited. Me too :)

I'll keep you posted.

Some of the shots for the clothes were taken in Bhutan - country I want to visit.

Baby shower collage

Sarah and I went to a baby shower of a good friend on Sat and I decided to make her a wall collage.

I started with an 8x8 canvas I covered with paper and then put a page with a lullaby on it. I added wallpaper I had distressed.

I did a contact paper transfer - Thanks to Sarah Ahearn! of a little child and his duck.

I then added 3 wooden stars that I had painted and distressed.

I covered the back with thick gold paper and added hangers after I had attached a blue ribbon all the way around. They know the baby is a boy and I included a wooden piece with another tiny star so she could add his name and birthdate if she wished later.

My Sarah( the mother is named Sarah too) also got creative with her present and wrapped this up. I love the hands and feet!

We have another shower for her in November and I am working on something for that too!

Photo board

I bought this set of clear acrylic magnets a while ago and they are to put your own photos in - different sizes. I had them on my furnace - which is metal but they were all the same pic.

Nice pic - I kept one.

I decided to fill the others with some mag pics of places I want to go to and some neat inspiration.

This one says "Life is a journey and every woman travels their own road.

Here are some places I am going to...

The coast of Italy - in fact the whole country rocks!

Prague,

Cambodia, Angor Wat, Thailand, other islands in the south Pacific,

This is the whole thing - also Machu Picchu in there, west coast and the sea!

Where do you hope to travel to?

Have a good weekend.

Went for a drive...

And saw this in a tree - could it be?

YUP! A bald eagle. So cool - I have never seen one and it was awesome. What is he doing up here? We are in the north but not like ALASKA north or anything. I looked it up though and I guess they are known to breed in parts of ON. Everyone I talk too has never seen one so pretty rare. He took off and those white tail feathers were amazing. Maybe he'll nest here- I guess the nests are 13ft deep x 8ft wide (!!)

Also along the road was this horse and as soon as he saw me he ended up "posing" like he knew I was taking pictures.

3 different pictures each one zoomed in. So pretty.

Getting some color changes up here too.

A neat fall drive.

Distracted...in a good way!

Busy this morning listing some old books on ebay and they are all so cool - I ended up taking pictures just for the fun  of it!

I love it when that happens and I get inspired.

It's pretty easy to do around books though, no?
